Island Health has joined the provincial BC Scribe Self-Pay Program, which is an extension of the BC Scribe Project that gave providers an opportunity to test AI scribe tools. The vendors participating in the BC Scribe Self-Pay Program are now offering discounted year subscription rates to Medical Staff at all BC Health Authorities. Discounted subscription rates vary by vendor, are available to initiate until December 4, 2026, with one year term beginning on date of enrolment.
Who is Eligible?
Eligibility for the BC Scribe Self-Pay Program extends to members of Island Health Medical Staff, including:
- Physicians & Surgeons
- Nurse Practitioners
- Midwives
- Dentists
Which AI Scribes are Island Health-approved?
There are 5 approved partnered vendors of the BC Scribe Self-Pay Program. All 5 partnered vendors are approved for use at Island Health. Note: Medical Staff will need to use their Island Health email and Island Health account password to access the BC Scribe Self-Pay Program website.

Subscriptions are a direct agreement between members of the Medical Staff and the vendor. Issues with billing, refunds, or product features should be discussed with your chosen AI Scribe vendor.
