PPE During COVID-19 Pandemic

A change has been made to the PPE Guidelines to support the safety of staff and medical staff working in our hospitals. The new expectation states eye protection must be worn for all patient interactions within 2 meters, within inpatient areas. Staff in areas perceived to be higher-risk are required to wear eye protection at all times during their work, to reduce the risk of exposure from patients who have not been assessed for COVID-19 risk factors, or minimally assessed. This change to our PPE Guidelines was done to align current practices across BC health authorities.
