The Hierarchy for Infection Prevention and Exposure Control Measures for Communicable Diseases
Implementing infection prevention and exposure control measures helps create a safe environment for clients/patients, residents, health-care providers, volunteers, visitors and the general public. The hierarchy of infection prevention and exposure control measures for communicable disease describes the measures that can be taken to reduce and eliminate the transmission of infectious diseases. Control measures listed at the top are more protective than those at the bottom.

Return to Work for HCWs with Confirmed or Suspected COVID-19 and Management of HCWs Exposures to COVID-19
This BCCDC Guidance Document is updated to include criteria for return to work based on COVID-19 immunization status: Two tables of criteria – one for fully immunized and one for partially immunized or unimmunized HCWs – that HCWs need to meet before they can return to work, subject to the status of their COVID-19 test or risk factors (pgs. 2- 6) and more.
RJH Memo: Physician, Reserved, Staff Parking Access Change
Effective June 21st: 20 public stalls at RJH were converted to staff parking, Effective July 4th: 25 reserved stalls in the Administration lot will be converted to staff parking.

Research Grant Opportunity: Transforming Health with Integrated Care – Implementation Science Teams
The Canadian Institutes for Health Research is issuing a call to support interdisciplinary research teams dedicated to understanding the implementation, evaluation, adaptation, and/or and spread/scale of transformative evidence-informed integrated care policies and interventions that encompass intersectoral collaborations within and/or beyond the formal health care delivery system.
BCPSQC Quality Forum awards PQI alumni team
The annual BC Patient Safety and Quality Council’s Quality Forum, held on June 1-2, 2022 at the Hyatt Regency in Vancouver, provided a unique opportunity to share and discuss quality improvement across the health care system. Eleven abstracts submitted from Island Health this year included seven storyboards that featured work involving or lead by Physician Quality Improvement (PQI) Alumni. The PQI Alumni team storyboard for “Good Call” was awarded “Storyboard Winner”.
