Celebrating Service Milestones
Initiated in 2025, the Medical Staff Recognition Program aligns with Island Health's service milestone recognition program for employees. This program aims to recognize medical staff service milestones at 5 years of service, and in 5-year increments thereafter.

In Memoriam Dr. Sylvie Argouarch
We are profoundly saddened to announce the tragic passing of Dr. Sylvie Argouarch in Victoria, on August 2nd. She had been involved in a collision with a truck while cycling on July 28th.
Using Blood Wisely: the Island Health story 2025
On July 30, Health Quality BC announced the new Choosing Wisely provincial hub for BC. Island Health has already demonstrated a commitment to Choosing Wisely and has maintained designation as a Using Blood Wisely organization since May 2023.
Welcome Dr. Maitreya Patel
Dr. Maitreya is an internationally trained orthopedic surgeon who practiced as independent consultant in orthopedic surgery in India. He will be joining Victoria General Hospital in the operating room and with the surgical 5AB team.

Menopause PC Grand Rounds Breaks Attendance Records
