Nanaimo Patient Sees New Hope with Advanced Cancer Treatment Close to Home
A Parksville woman with advanced blood cancer became the first patient in Nanaimo to receive a new immunotherapy treatment that helps the immune system target cancer cells. The therapy, delivered locally through Island Health and BC Cancer, improved her quality of life and made her cancer undetectable while allowing care closer to home.
