Urgent Shift Opportunities

Island Health and your colleagues are requesting your support with upcoming emergency department, inpatient care, and general internal medicine shift coverage across Vancouver Island sites.

Urgent/Critical Emergency Shifts

The following shifts, if left unfilled, will result in site closure or diversion.

West Coast General Hospital: September 19, 20, 26 (2200-0800) and October 2 (2200-0800)

Port McNeill Hospital: October 2 (0900-0900)

Port Hardy Hospital: October 2 (0700-0700)

IF available, eligible travel support includes:

    • $1500 - greater than 10 hours
  • Paid mileage from your location to the site at $0.72 km
  • Meal allowance (while traveling)
  • Accommodation
