This onboarding checklist is designed to support contracted physicians and nurse practitioners in becoming practice-ready at Island Health owned and operated primary care sites. Please complete onboarding activities prior to your first day.
Throughout your onboarding journey, please direct questions that arise to the Site Manager and Medical Leader at your interview and site tour.
Contracted physicians and nurse practitioners who are new to BC, or to primary care practice, please begin with the Pre-Onboarding activities below. In some cases, these items can take months to complete.
The BC Services Card provides access to government services for BC residents. The BC Services Card Account is a digital ID/app that enables secure online login to government services. It can take up to 60 days to arrive with the average being 10-30 days.
Both are required:
- Register for BC Services Card
- Download the BC Services Card Account App.
