- Policy Development Process
-
All Island Health policies, procedures and guidelines (i.e., formal documents) need to be developed and approved using established processes and templates. The Policy Stewardship Team is available to help support at every phase. If a formal document is the believed to be right tool to address the service gap or need, the first step in the policy development process is to check what may already exist, including legislation, other health authority policies, or currently on the Island Health intranet. Further steps to develop Island Health-approved policies, procedures and guidelines are listed on the secure intranet. If you require assistance, email QualityGov@islandhealth.ca and check with the Medical Staff Governance team.
