Doctors of BC
Doctors of BC,formerly known as the BC Medical Association, is a voluntary association of 14,000 physicians, residents and medical students in British Columbia. Their mission is to promote a social, economic, and political climate in which members can provide the citizens of BC with the highest standard of health care, while achieving maximum professional satisfaction and fair economic reward.
Joint Collaborative Committees
Doctors of BC and the provincial government created a number of Joint Collaborative Committees with health authority representation. These include the General Practice Services Committee,Specialist Services Committee,Joint Standing Committee on Rural Issues,and the Shared Care Committee.
Divisions of Family Practice
Divisions of Family Practice are community-based groups of family physicians working together to achieve common health care goals. There are currently nine Divisions of Family Practice on Vancouver Island.
