The CERT Team turns 3!
The CERT Team has grown in a short three years from a COVID 19/Surge response project to a fully funded, critical care, high acuity transfer team which provides inter-facility transport when BC Ambulance Critical Care Paramedics (CCP's) are unavailable or unable to perform the transport.

Round three of SPEAK – aka the Survey on Population Experiences, Action and Knowledge – launched on Tuesday, April 25. It asks people living in B.C. who are ages 18 and up about their social, economic, physical/mental health and well-being.

Island Health will be transitioning to a new IV monograph format starting at the end of April 2023. Goal: More intuitive Preparation and Administration box, particularly for Pediatric and Neonatal Patients.

The Patient Care Quality Office is pleased to announce a new way for our patients and family members to submit feedback. An online form has been created using RedCap to allow patients to electronically register compliments and concerns.

Island Health staff and medical staff have reported that they want to be more involved in decisions that impact their work. There is a new opportunity to do just that on an Island-wide basis by joining a group of committees focused on improving quality and safety for the people Island Health serves.

Go-Live: Video On-Demand Interpreting now available at your site
Video Remote Interpreting (VRI) is an on-demand application that gives care providers easy access to a live, medically trained interpreter through video or audio in a matter of seconds. Interpreting services are available at no cost for all Island Health programs. Use of interpreting services improves the quality and safety of patient care with more than 240 languages available, including American Sign Language (ASL).
