Provider Profile: Emergency Department Measures

The Provider Profile provides physicians and midwives at Island Health individual access to data related to their patient population and specific measures related to dimensions of quality.

Department specific measures, chosen by the Department of Emergency Medicine are in development for physicians providing emergency department care.

As well as individual data and all-site comparisons, aggregate data for Emergency Providers is provided by primary site. Emergency Department metrics include provider level patient population data and quality measures for all ED visits and for admitted patients.

Using Your Provider Profile to Drive Improvement

Measures are provided as a focus for quality improvement (QI) and continuing professional development (CPD). By reviewing individual quality measures and comparing against departmental averages, emergency medicine providers can identify areas for improvement, engage in reflective practice, and participate in individual or team-based QI. This approach can enhance patient care and contribute to earning CPD credits through programs like The College of Family Physicians of Canada Maintenance of Proficiency (Mainpro+) program and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada's Maintenance of Certification (MOC) Program.

Access the Provider Profile to explore your emergency department quality metrics and support your commitment to excellence in emergency medicine practice. 

	The Provider Profile is available to Medical Staff. Click here to navigate directly to the Provider Profile *Please note that the Emergency Department Dashboard is  coming soon and department-specific metrics are not yet available. *Island Health login is Required* Report PORTAL: the Provider Profile is located on the ‘Quality Improvement’  section of the Report PORTAL, under the heading ‘Medical Quality’.
