Creating Connections as you begin your journey with Island Health

Island Health is thrilled that you have chosen to make this region your home and place of practice.

Creating Connections is a component of a medical staff onboarding pilot project being offered at Cowichan District Hospital and is supported through the Facilities Engagement Initiative and Island Health Partnership. Creating Connections matches new medical staff members with a local medical staff peer Orientation Champion to welcome you on-site, introduce you to key contacts and to introduce you to the local medical staff culture. Further to the local on-site connections, an Information & Education Hub has been established as part of this pilot to support your organizational information and education need. Orientation Journey

You will meet with your Orientation Champion within the first few days of your start date, one week after your first meeting and one month after your initial meeting. To guide you and your champion through your journey we have created templates for you to follow.
