Updated: COVID-19: Viral Testing Guidelines for British Columbia
BCCDC Guidelines for COVID-19 testing in B.C. are periodically reviewed and updated based on: COVID-19 epidemiology; New clinical information; Current eligibility for treatment; Public health measures in place and more. Updates to this document included: Unvaccinated / partially vaccinated individuals 50 years and older, fully vaccinated individuals 70 years and older, but have three or more chronic conditions.
COVID-19: Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) Considerations for Mental Health and Substance Use Settings
This BCCDC guidance document provides practical information for mental health and substance use (MHSU) inpatient settings for the prevention of COVID-19 and further transmission. Depending on the setting, it is intended to be used in addition to the infection prevention and control (IPC) guidelines for acute care and long-term care and seniors’ assisted living settings.
Set up your Self-Service Password Reset service
Save time by using the new Self-Service Password Reset (SSPR) tool which launched in mid-March. SSPR allows you to reset forgotten Window/Network passwords on your own and unlock your account without the need to call the Service Desk and wait for assistance.
Spoken-word artist Shane Koyczan pays tribute to health care workers
On March 11, marking the two-year anniversary of the pandemic, spoken-word artist Shane Koyczan performed for a small, in-person group of Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA) staff. The performance was webcasted and recorded, to be shared with all health care workers.
Updated MOH Guidance Document: Overview of Visitors in Long-Term Care and Seniors’ Assisted Living and Posters
This Ministry of Health guidance document is updated to include as of March 18, all visitors will be allowed at long-term care and seniors' assisted living facilities. All visitors must show proof of vaccination before visiting a long-term care or seniors' assisted-living facility.

Update to Communicable Disease Control Manual, Chapter 1: Communicable Disease Control: COVID-19 Interim Guidelines
The BCCDC COVID-19 Interim Guidelines were updated to include a section on the effectiveness of contract tracing in the context of current transmission, information on MHO considerations for declaring outbreaks in long-term care facilities, and an additional appendix on outbreak control measures.
