In recognition of National Indigenous Peoples Day, you are warmly invited to join the Indigenous Cultural Safety and Humility (ICSH) Team for a meaningful drop-in learning session about traditional medicines and the role they can play in supporting comfort, connection, and wellbeing for Indigenous patients and families while in hospital.

Participants will have the opportunity to sew heart-shaped medicine bundles that will be gifted to Indigenous patients receiving care across Island Health sites. No prior sewing experience or knowledge is needed; all materials and guidance will be provided.

This drop in learning is intended to create space for relationship-building, shared learning, and meaningful action.

Reconciliation is not only something we speak about; it is something we practice through our relationships, our care, and the ways we show up for one another and the communities we serve. Through small acts of care and intentionality, we can each contribute to creating safer, more welcoming healthcare environments for First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples.

We look forward to seeing you drop-in, make a heart, or just come to say hello!

Drop-in session dates and times:
