Unregulated drugs claim lives of 206 British Columbians in April 2023
Preliminary data from the BC Coroners Service shows that communities throughout the province continue to be devastated by deaths due to unregulated drugs, with 814 lives lost in the first four months of 2023.
Safety & Health Week 2023
This year, Safety & Health Week (previously called NAOSH week) occurred May 1st-6th. Safety & Health Week presents an excellent opportunity to focus, reinforce, and strengthen our commitment to occupational health and safety. Victoria Hospitals Foundation Donors Raise $10 Million and Complete Emerge Stronger Campaign
The Victoria Hospitals Foundation (VHF) has announced the completion of the Emerge Stronger campaign, a $10 million commitment for Royal Jubilee Hospital (RJH), Victoria General Hospital (VGH), and Gorge Road Hospital (GRH). Over 5,800 donors came together to support the funding of over 200 pieces of equipment and innovative research projects over the course of 18 months.

New Webpage: Associate Physicians
Associate Physician is a new licensure class offered by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (the College) to internationally trained physicians. The license is an opportunity for physicians who are not eligible for any other class of licensure to practice, under supervision, as part of a care team within Island Health.

PRIME site registration and user enrolment webinars for Physicians
There will be two webinars, on May 16 and 18, 2023, to help people navigate the user enrolment and site registration processes. College registrants who have PharmaNet access and want to retain it must enrol in PRIME by August 15, 2023. Registrants who do not currently have access and require it must enrol in PRIME before they attempt to access PharmaNet.
