Physicians who have PharmaNet access and want to retain it must enrol in PRIME by August 15, 2023. Registrants who do not currently have access and require it must enrol in PRIME before they attempt to access PharmaNet.
PRIME is a mainly automated application that health professionals use to request permission to access PharmaNet for themselves (“individuals") and for their workplaces (“sites"). Sites are clinical locations where PharmaNet is used to deliver in-person care to patients.
PharmaNet's patient dispensing history plays an integral role in building patient health profiles, defining impacts on current health, and informing courses of treatment. PRIME enrolment improves the privacy and security of patient and practitioner information stored in PharmaNet.
Physicians will need the BC Services Card app and their CPSID to enrol in PRIME.
Upcoming PRIME webinars
People accessing PharmaNet on a registrant's behalf must also enrol by the same August 15, 2023 deadline (e.g. registration clerks, unit clerks, MOAs and students).
New sites must be registered to access PharmaNet by August 31, 2023. Existing sites must be registered in PRIME for practitioners to retain their access to PharmaNet at those locations. A site can be registered on a practitioner's behalf by someone who does not access PharmaNet and is not a registrant of a health regulatory college, such as an office manager or MOA. You do not need to register a site if you only work for a health authority.
There will be two webinars, on May 16 and 18, 2023, to help people navigate the user enrolment and site registration processes. Both sessions will be recorded and posted on the PRIME webpage for those who cannot attend in person. There are also resources and webinar background materials available online, and the PRIME support team is available to help.
