CPOE at Royal Jubilee: How it’s going one week in
Since fully activating the electronic health record (EHR) at Royal Jubilee Hospital (RJH) June 8, medical staff have been getting used to a new set of tools to assist them with computerized provider order entry (CPOE) and management. The overall feeling so far is that of “increasing confidence”, according to Associate Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Eric Shafonsky.
The Campbell River Primary Care Access Clinic is Open
The new clinic is in the administration building on the North Island Hospital grounds in Campbell River. There is a dedicated health-care team including a physician or nurse practitioner, registered nurses, and a medical office assistant.
Island Health’s Climate Change & Planetary Health Conference
Island Health's first-ever Climate Change & Planetary Health Conference is taking place on Thursday, September 26 at the Vancouver Island Convention Center in Nanaimo. This is a single-day, in-person conference and is open to all Island Health staff and medical staff.

The NEW Pharmaceutical Waste Disposal Policy and Procedure have been posted on the intranet Policies and Procedures page under Medication Systems. The policy and procedure provide clear direction on proper disposal of medications, packaging, supplies used to prepare, carry, and administer medication.
