Dear Colleagues,
It is with profound sadness that we are writing to inform you of the sudden passing of our dear colleague and friend, Dr. Bryan Bass. It is the most devastating news for any family to bear and our thoughts, prayers and love are with them at this time.
Dr. Bass has been an integral member of the Cowichan Valley medical community for many years. As the Co‐Chair of the Cowichan Division of Family Practice and founding member of the Primary Care Network, he has been a champion for primary care in our region. Dr Bass’s medical practice has spanned decades and has supported patients in the community and inpatients at the Cowichan District Hospital. He has touched the hearts of many staff, physicians and patients throughout the community. He will be greatly missed by all.
We are mindful of how difficult this news is to hear for everyone that knew and worked with him. Dr. Bass was a beloved member of our physician community, colleague and friend, who had the most endearing qualities, compassion and love for his patients and members of this community who he was committed to serving.
Please do not hesitate to reach out to your manager or to seek counseling support from our confidential Employee and Family Assistance providers by contacting 1‐844‐935‐4758 at any time 24/7. Physician colleagues can reach out for support through the provincial Physician Health Program at 1-800-663-6729.
Further details regarding a memorial and ways of sending condolences and support to Bryan’s family will be announced at a later date.
Thank you,
