Looking to sharpen your Quality Improvement (QI) skills, expand your clinical network across the Island, or take on a care gap that has been bothering you for years? Physician Quality Improvement (PQI) has expanded it’s training to operational leaders who co-apply with a physician to co-lead a QI project in their shared care areas.

About Dyad Partnerships

Dyadic leadership models are increasingly used in high-performing health systems to break down silos, align clinical and operational perspectives, and accelerate implementation. In PQI training, dyads work together to understand the problem, design improvements, engage patients, test changes, and spread results.

Dyads are particularly well-suited for improvement work in Island Health-staffed environments where both clinical insight and operational decision-making influence success. Beyond strengthening project execution, dyads help build shared leadership capacity and support culture change toward continuous improvement.

Operational leaders considering a dyad partnership must first obtain approval from their portfolio or departmental leadership. Participation is offered as a scholarship opportunity. Training fees are covered, participants receive access to PQI coaching and project support throughout the learning year, and graduates join the PQI Alum community with continued access to QI learning and support. PQI does not provide wage coverage or reimbursement for expenses associated with attending workshops or completing project work.

For more information, see Dyad Partnerships in Cohort Training and Interior Health’s Dyadic Partnerships White Paper.
