What is the Provider Profile?
Island Health Provider Profile is a secure, interactive web-based tool designed to support physicians and midwives better understand their own practice through data.
- View your own practice data over a 5-year window for years you were Most Responsible Provider (MRP)
- Compare your data with aggregated service-level data
- Only you can see your own data
Opportunity for Engagement
We are seeking up to 6 physicians with a passion for quality improvement (QI) and data-informed practice to help shape how the Provider Profile is introduced, learned, and used across Island Health.
- Compensation available at the JCC non-clinical rate (HSR funding)
- Open to fully licensed FPs and SPs working in acute care at Island Health
- Participants must have been MRP within the last 5 years and have Provider Profile data available
To align with available data, we hope to recruit at least one physician perspective from Emergency Medicine, Delivery, and Pediatrics.
What’s Involved?
Engagement will occur across three phased activities, with flexible participation and modest time commitments.
Communications Development
Help shape how the Provider Profile is described and introduced to physicians.
- Co-develop key messages
- Identify physician audiences and effective channels
- Time Commitment: ~2 hours (May – June), includes a virtual discussion and compensated time to review draft materials.
Education Materials Co-Development
Help create practical, physician-informed resources that build confidence in using the Provider Profile for continuing professional development and individual or team-based QI.
What we create is up to you, based on your interests and experience.

- Short videos
- Use-case examples
- Educational Action Series
- Supporting resources
- Time Commitment: ~5 hours (June – September)
Socialization & Peer Engagement
Support peer-led communication to promote sharing and uptake of the Provider Profile.
- Present or share insights with groups such as MSAs, Divisions, or LMACs
- Time commitment: ~3 hours (October – December)

Share your perspective to shape how physicians use Provider Profile to support learning, reflection, and QI, ensuring this work is grounded in physician experience. You’ll also help build a shared culture of learning and continuous improvement by:
- Shaping supportive resources that physicians will actually use
- Contributing to physician-led, practical approaches to QI
