Be at the forefront of providing vital, relationship-based care in a community setting. We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner to take over an established, protected practice at Cedar Branches, a facility operated by the Cowichan Women Against Violence Society in the Cowichan Valley.
This embedded role is designed to provide culturally safe, holistic, and comprehensive care directly within the shelter environment. You will be part of a community-based safety net tasked with reducing barriers to healthcare and improving longitudinal outcomes for vulnerable women.
We are looking for a nurse practitioner who thrives in specialized clinical environments and values taking the time to build trust. Your practice will include:
- Low-Ratio, High-Impact Primary Care: Providing long-term, full-scope primary care services on-site. The volume is intentionally paced at an average of 5-6 highly complex patients per shift, allowing for deep thorough, and relationship-based medicine.
- Integrated Shelter Care: Operating out of a dedicated, recently reconfigured private consultation room on the main floor to ensure excellent site flow and patient confidentiality.
- Trauma-Informed Interventions: Delivering care through an explicitly trauma-informed lens, prioritizing safety, trustworthiness, choice, and collaboration in every clinical interaction.
