Please join Island Health in welcoming Dr. Randal Mason -Regional Medical Director, Addictions Medicine and Substance Abuse Care, and Dr. Danielle Meunier – Medical Lead, Hematopathology Island Wide.
Dr. Randal Mason - Regional Medical Director, Addictions Medicine and Substance Abuse Care:
Dr. Mason completed my medical degree at the University of Calgary after navigating several career changes and moves prior to Medicine. Subsequently, he had the privilege of returning to Vancouver Island, where he completed his Family Medicine residency training at the Indigenous Training Site in Ladysmith and Nanaimo.
Dr. Danielle Meunier – Medical Lead, Hematopathology Island Wide:
Dr. Meunier attended medical school and completed her Residency at University of Alberta.
Danielle was exposed to Hematopathology in her former career as a medical laboratory technologist (MLT). She loved the hematology and transfusion subject matter and was drawn to the puzzle solving aspect of hemepath.
Dr. Meunier’s special interests include transfusion medicine and point of care coagulation testing (ie TEG and ROTEM). In her spare time she can be found cycling, hiking, sewing and training her dog.
