Island Health and your colleagues are requesting your support with upcoming emergency department, inpatient care, and general internal medicine shift coverage across Vancouver Island sites. Contact medstaffhrplanning@islandhealth.ca directly if you are able to provide coverage or for more information. In most cases, privileging can be expedited as required.

General Internal Medicine Coverage Opportunities

 

IF available, eligible travel support includes:

  • Travel time honorarium (within BC):
    • $250  - 2.5 hrs or less return trip
    • $500   -2.5 hrs up to 4 hours return trip
    • $1000 - 4 hrs to 10 hours return trip
    • $1500 - greater than 10 hours
  • Paid mileage from your location to the site at $0.73 km
  • Meal allowance (while traveling)
  • Accommodation
