The Provincial Violence Prevention Curriculum:
Awareness is growing of the severe impact of violence against medical staff on their physical and psychological safety. Providing a safe workplace for everyone is a priority at Island Health.
The Provincial Violence Prevention Curriculum for Physicians and medical staff (PVPC-P) training program provides medical staff with strategies to prevent and deescalate violent situations in the workplace, and help keep you and your colleagues safe.
Components of this training include:

2. | PVPC-P Classroom (CURRENTLY PAUSED UNTIL MARCH 2024) #20615, Violence Prevention – PVPC for Medical Staff Classroom |
3.5 hours Compensated at non-clinical rate. |
Required for Medical Staff working in a higher risk environment*, including: 1. Emergency, Psychiatry, LTC & Neurology. |
*Medical and Academic Affairs and your Medical Leadership team will support all interested medical staff to complete the 3.5 hour classroom training.
