The Practice consists of 7 Nurse Practitioners supporting longitudinal primary care.  The Clinic is a Primary Care Network partner, with Allied Health providers co-located, working alongside Primary Care Providers supporting clinic patients.

The role is currently 1.0 FTE, part-time applications or expressions of interest for future vacancies welcomed.

Cumberland Village Health Care is a community-led, team-based medical practice established and operated by the not-for-profit Beauford Family Health Society (BFHS). The BFHS was formed in Spring 2022 with the mandate to open and operate an interdisciplinary family health clinic, Cumberland Village Health Care, in Cumberland, BC.

The clinic is a recently constructed (2020) medical clinic with spacious, light, modern exam rooms. The clinic is co-located with a multidisciplinary physiotherapy/ chiropractic/wellness centre and a pharmacy.

Community Information:

On the north central region of Vancouver Island, the City of Courtenay, along with the neighboring communities of the Town of Comox and Village of Cumberland, comprises one of the fastest growing areas on the island – the Comox Valley, located on the unceded traditional territory of the K’ómoks First Nation.  Courtenay is the valley’s largest urban centre, where you’ll find urban amenities wrapped in small town charm and character. Comox is the seaside community with a high walkability score and quick access to some of the Island’s best beaches. Cumberland honors its coal mining past while celebrating the latest music scenes, family festivals and extensive mountain biking trails. 

The Village of Cumberland is a vibrant community located in the Comox Valley on Vancouver Island. The Village provides an inviting small-town atmosphere and yet is only a 10 minutes commute to all of the amenities of a major urban centre. Cumberland is a growing community with a population of 3,750 within the Comox Valley (population 72,500), with a significantly younger demographic (median age 30.3) than surrounding communities within the Comox Valley. 

The Comox Valley is home to Mount Washington, Vancouver Island’s largest ski resort, and serves as the gateway to both Strathcona Provincial Park and the Desolation Sound group of islands. The recreational options are endless and well complemented by thriving arts and culture communities and a wide array of boutiques, restaurants and fine dining.
