This area encompasses the mid-east to north-central area of Vancouver Island. Here you will find the Comox Valley (Comox/Courtenay), the cities of Campbell River and Powell River, the villages of Cumberland and Gold River, and the Discovery Islands of Quadra Island and Cortes Island which houses the community of Manson’s Landing all with a combined population of just under 100,000.

This part of Vancouver Island offers all of the natural beauty one would expect with towering west coast forests, an abundance of resident wildlife, protected coastal waters, inland lakes and rivers, and a beautiful agricultural landscape.  

It offers a mix of lifestyle from small cities to quiet rural areas with diverse recreational and cultural locations, heritage buildings, museums and a vibrant arts and crafts industry. 

For the recreational enthusiast you can enjoy a four season’s playground to partake in a variety of activities such as fishing, boating, skiing, caving mountain climbing, camping, hiking, horseback riding or simply strolling along the beach. 

The Comox Valley, Strathcona and North Island is in the traditional territory of the Coast Salish, Nučaałʔatḥ (Nuu-chah-nulth) and Kwakawaka’wakw Indigenous people.
