The Division of Geriatric Medicine consists of a team of 11 Geriatricians working across Vancouver Island serving a population of 750,000. In Campbell River, the new North Island Hospital is a state of the art facility with an elder-friendly design to meet unique needs of seniors.
The Geriatric service provides clinical support to a robust service including in-patient and out-patient consultation and follow-up. Physicians work with dedicated interdisciplinary teams in most areas, including a geriatric psychiatrist in Campbell River. There are no “on call” duties with attractive remuneration under a clinical service contract. The Division of Geriatrics is affiliated with the University of British Columbia Island Medical Program, and supports clinical teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate learners.

May be eligible for additional remuneration in accordance with the Rural Subsidiary Agreement (RSA), including (subject to change):
Recruitment Incentive: up to a maximum of $10,000 (pro-rated based on FTE)
Relocation: up to a maximum of $15,000 (amount based on location relocating from)
Flat fee: $9,242.01
Fee Premium: 6.09%
CME: $2,200/annum year 3-4 and $4,400/annum after 4 years in the community.

Campbell River has an approximate population of 36,000. Campbell River is a beautiful coastal town in the heart of the North Island. Enjoy exploring trails, whale-watching, seafood.
In addition, Campbell River General services the communities of Alert Bay, Campbell River, Cortes Island, Gold River, Kyuquot, Port Alice, Port Hardy, Port MacNeill, Sointula and Tahsis.
