Children under 5 years now eligible to register to receive the COVID-19 vaccine
Beginning August 2, 2022, all people over the age of 6 months in B.C. can now receive protection against the COVID-19 virus, following Health Canada’s approval of the vaccine specifically formulated for children between the ages of 6 months and five years old.
World Health Organization Emergency Use Authorization Qualified COVID-19 Vaccines
The WHO list of EUA qualified COVID-19 vaccines will be updated over time as additional COVID-19 vaccines receive emergency use listing, and as such, this document will be updated accordingly. COVID-19 Vaccination and Young Adults in Island Health Region: Looking for Participants
The Vaccine Evaluation Center (VEC) at BC Children's Hospital and the University of British Columbia, in collaboration with researchers at Island Health, want to understand the perspectives and experiences of young adults regarding vaccination for COVID-19. The study is looking for young adults between the ages of 20-29 years living on Vancouver Island, Gulf Islands, or Discovery Islands. Participation is voluntary.
Residential Schools: An Apology and Supports Available
July 25th, during his first full-day in Canada, Pope Francis visited the Montana Cree First Nation in Alberta, where thousands of residential school survivors and their families gathered to witness and hear a long-awaited formal apology for the Catholic Church's role in the cultural genocide caused by Canada's residential school system.
