Island Health and VicPD Launch Co-Response Team
Operating from 8 am to 8 pm, 7 days a week, this new team expands and increases the mental health response continuum, adding to the existing interdisciplinary Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) teams, the Integrated Mobile Crisis Response Team (IMCRT) and the peer-led, non-police community-based Peer Assisted Care Teams (PACT).

Highlights from another year of IHealth advancements
In the last two years, Island Health expanded its use of electronic clinical documentation (ClinDoc), Cerner Capacity Management (CCM) for patient flow and equipment requisitions, closed-loop medication administration and computerized provider order entry (CPOE). This advancement of the electronic health record (EHR) brings Island Health ever closer to the vision of “One Person. One Record. One Plan for Health and Care."

Introduction to Decriminalization in British Columbia
On January 31st, a three-year temporary exemption under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act will come into effect in BC. The exemption means people will not face criminal penalties for possessing small amounts of certain illicit drugs for personal use.
