Victoria surgeon, Dr. Michael Ross recently retired at age 85. Dr. Ross served as chief of surgery at the Royal Jubilee hospital, was president of the Victoria Medical Society, served as a consultant at the Island Pain Clinic and the B.C. Cancer Clinic and taught at the University of Victoria for 10 years.

VP Pandemic Planning & Chief MHO Joint Update: October 26, 2020
Over the weekend, B.C. saw the largest increase of cases since the start of the pandemic. As many new cases are a direct result of social gatherings in private homes, Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry announced a new provincial order that limits gatherings in private homes to no more than immediate household members, plus a maximum of six others.

Announcement: Dr. Steve Loken, Executive Medical Director Geo 2
Dr. Steve Loken has accepted the Executive Medical Director, Geo 2 position, effective October 1, 2020. In this role, Dr. Loken will serve as the EMD for Nanaimo, Oceanside and Alberni-Clayoquot regions.

Effective September 1st, 2020, Dr. David Butcher assumed the Medical Lead, Family Practice, Lady Minto Hospital role. Dr. Butcher is taking on this new role while also continuing at the Health Authority Medical Advisory Committee Chair which he has held since April 2019.
