Staff and Physician Pay Parking Suspended April 1 until Further Notice | March 30, 2020

In an effort to reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission, lessen the financial burden on essential visitors and ensure equitability amongst staff on-site and working from home, Island Health is temporarily suspending pay parking for the public, staff and medical staff, at all health authority owned and operated sites, effective April 1 until further notice.

  • Payroll deductions for Island Health staff parking passes will be suspended.
  • Physicians, residents and interns will receive a discount on next year’s annual physician parking pass. Those who do not renew will receive a partial refund.
  • Payroll deductions for the BC Transit ProPass will be temporarily suspended in communities where BC Transit has suspended paid transit.
  • Staff and Physicians are asked to continue to park in Staff and Physician Designated areas only. 
  • Permit holders are asked to retain and display your staff parking permits.
  • Staff who utilized scratch tickets will be unable to obtain scratch tickets – please continue to park in staff designated areas.
