Work Hub Launch Date Update: November 18, 2026
Island Health's new intranet, Work Hub, is still on its way, but we're moving the launch date from November 4 to Wednesday, November 18, 2026.
Your responses
In the October 14 Weekly, we invited you to test the navigation menu for our new intranet. Thank you to the 128 participants. Here is what we learned:
What worked well
Everyday HR tasks were easy to find. Almost everyone found their pay deductions, how to request vacation, the form to add a spouse to benefits, and the expense claim form.
What we need to improve
Three scenarios were much harder to find:
- Reporting a patient near-miss (39% success)
- Finding how much paid bereavement leave you can take (50%)
- Contacting someone in Facilities Management at another site when you don't know their name (54%)
Many of you also told us that the "Resources" label is too vague. It was the most common comment by far.

We're looking at ways to rework the three areas that were harder to find, and we're adding audience and category filters to the Resources section to help you find what you need. After Work Hub goes live, we'll keep gathering data on how people use it and keep making improvements. Your feedback will continue to shape it.

Watch for an opportunity for a virtual tour of the new Work Hub before it goes live. Lunch and learn invitations will also be coming soon. These sessions will be recorded and shared so those who are unable to attend can access the information.
The Work Hub launch is just the beginning.
When the new intranet launches, most information will stay the same. Staff will see a new homepage, a new and improved search experience, and a mobile-friendly design that works across phones, tablets, laptops, and desktop computers.
Over time, Work Hub will make it easier to:
- Find the information and services you need
- Access your tools and resources quickly
- Trust that information is current and reliable
Moving forward, we will be asking for your ideas for specific things we can do to achieve these goals.
