Please join Dr. Ben Williams, Vice President Medicine, Quality and Research on 29 October from 7:30am – 8:30 am for physician-focused information session with Dr. Patrick Rowe, Registrar and CEO of College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC (CPSBC). Dr. Rowe will share an update about the Health Professions and Occupations Act (HPOA) that came into effect April 1, 2026. An email invitation was sent to all physicians. His session will focus on:
- Changes under the Health Professions and Occupations Act (HPOA)
- Regulation of clinical perfusionists, medical laboratory technologists, radiation therapists and respiratory therapists in November 2027
Following the presentation, there will be time for participant questions.
Dr. Patrick Rowe, Registrar and CEO, College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC (CPSBC) obtained his medical degree from the University of British Columbia in 1992. Prior to becoming CPSBC’s registrar and CEO, he practised as an emergency room physician at the University Hospital of Northern BC in Prince George and served as the regional medical lead, emergency and trauma for Northern Health. He joined the CPSBC Board in 2013 and was a member until 2023, when he assumed his current position.
