The Division of Neurosurgery of the Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health) is seeking a full-time colleague to join a group of 6.0 neurosurgeons in Victoria, BC.
Expectation of the successful candidate will include general neurosurgery on-call including neurosurgical trauma with a call frequency of 1:7 (compensated with level one MOCAP payment) with an elective subspecialty practice of cerebrovascular disease, neuro-oncology, endovascular care and the management of patients with CSF disorders. Successful candidates must be competent in the management of general disorders of the spine including fractures and degenerative disease. Qualifications are Royal College certification and full licensure with the CPSBC. The successful applicant must have completed a formal/recognized fellowship in cerebrovascular and endovascular Neurosurgery.
The South Island is the tertiary referral center of Island Health with a catchment population of 900,000+.
Participation in resident teaching, through the UBC Neurosurgery Division, and medical student teaching, through the Island Medical Program, is expected. Academic appointment through UBC is available to qualified applicants.
