The Central Nanaimo Urgent and Primary Care Centre is seeking Family Practitioners. Full time, part time and casual roles are available.
Join this team-based care centre with additional providers, nurses, and inter-disciplinary members such as mental health clinicians, social workers and an Indigenous nurse liaison.
This second Nanaimo UPCC will be open seven days a week and provide same day care for people who need support for their health concerns within 12 to 24 hours, but do not require an emergency department. Conditions such as sprains, cuts, high fevers and minor infections are appropriate for the UPCC. The UPCC will also attach people to a family physician or nurse practitioner via the provincial attachment system.
Planning for the UPCC and the temporary primary care stabilization clinic has been supported by the Nanaimo Division of Family Practice, local physicians and nurse practitioners, and First Nations partners, who are all focusing on providing increased and integrated access to care for people living in Nanaimo.

Clinic Hours:
Provides care from 0800 to 2000 doors (open) every day. Urgent primary care services will be offered 365 days per year, which includes weekends and Statutory holidays.
Flexibility of 3–4 hour (or longer) shifts are available.
Remuneration:
UPCC Service Contract-attractive compensation package with service contract positions in the urgent primary care clinic
• Payment will now be at contract base rate of $198.48 per hour
• Additional $25 per hour will be applied to direct patient care hours for evenings (18:00 and later) and weekends/holidays
Overhead:
No overhead payments are required
