Island Health’s Division of Anatomical Pathology has an opportunity for one Anatomical Pathologist to join the team at the Royal Jubilee Hospital in Victoria, British Columbia.

You have a Fellowship in Anatomic Pathology with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (or its equivalent) and are eligible for licensure in the Province of British Columbia. You are an excellent diagnostician with superb interpersonal and collaborative abilities. You have subspecialty experience in one or more areas of surgical pathology, including experience signing out non-gyne cytopathology.

Most departmental members do have fellowship training in at least one of their areas of interests.  Participation in the group coverage of frozen section, on-call and hospital (non-coroner) autopsy services is also required. A commitment to teaching is also expected, as you will mentor students of the Island Medical Program at the University of Victoria, residents and physicians from a variety of programs.

In this position, you will be eligible for appointment in the Island Health Department of Laboratory Medicine, Pathology and Medical Genetics, and as an Associate of the Victoria Pathology Consulting Corporation. You may also apply for a clinical appointment with the Department of Pathology at the University of British Columbia.
