Dr. Mike Thomson – Medical Lead – Emergency, Victoria General Hospital

Dr. Thomson is an Emergency Physician with South Island (RJH/VGH). He was born and raised in Victoria, and is excited to take on this role for his hometown. He attended UBC Medical School in Vancouver and completed his CCFP-EM residency at University of Ottawa. Dr. Thomson is the Executive for the Victoria Emergency Physicians Medical Society as well as a Clinical Assistant Professor, Dept of Emergency Medicine. Much of Mike’s spare time is spent chasing around his 18 month old son who he hopes will take to the golf clubs he got at Christmas!

Dr. Paeta Lehn – Medical Lead – Emergency, Saanich Peninsula Hospital

Dr. Lehn grew up in Winnipeg, and he did his training through the Northern Remote Medicine program at the University of Manitoba, working in the ICU, hospitalist and ED programs.

He subsequently moved to Victoria 4 years ago which happened to be right in the middle of a pandemic. Remember that?

Winterpeg jokes are still sensitive, they can be made up for through delicious food, snacks and well-aged liquids from oak barrels, in addition to kind-of-but-not-really competitive bike rides and a few rounds of equally competitive tennis.

Dr. Lehn has a special interest in all things flow and systems, AI and staff support.
