Sharing kudos from a Pender Harbour resident who, while on vacation, had an excellent care experience with staff and medical staff at both the Port Hardy Emergency Department and Port McNeill Hospital. Thank you for all you do!

I had the good fortune of being attended to by a very outstanding, warm, caring, thoughtful and excellent Doctor, Dr. Chris Newcombe at the Port Hardy Emergency Room. I have been
adversely affected by a swollen, very sore right knee which has been causing pain to walk over the past week and a half.
I wish to commend and praise Dr Newcombe's very thorough care with the aid of ultra sound and X-ray. I unfortunately forgot to mention some of my medical history, however, Dr Newcombe was very diligent in checking my medical history and thorough in his diagnosis. He went above and beyond by providing me excellent follow-up information along with printed, up to date literature. Island Health is very fortunate to have such an excellent, caring physician on staff.
I would also like to commend Glyness Bilgera, the attending nurse who was very caring, friendly, thorough, thoughtful and excellent. Her very pleasant, caring, personality shone through. Again, Island Health is very fortunate to have such a great nurse as Glyness.
Danielle Nye, the X-ray technician was also very kind, caring and another staff member who does an excellent job in her chosen profession.
One last commendation is to Laura, the receptionist at the Port McNeill Hospital. She was very helpful, friendly and caring on our visit. We were unable to see the doctor that day after waiting as there were a variety of emergency happenings which we certainly understood, feeling empathy for all those suffering.
Please extend my sincere thanks and appreciation to all your very dedicated staff mentioned above. I feel very fortunate and blessed to have such heartwarming ❤️ care. If you have a means to send them all a “Commendation and Praise" please do so on my behalf as I think it is very well deserved.
