PRIME: April 30th deadline for Nurse enrollment

Posted on: April 4, 2023

As a follow up to the January 5th roll-out memorandum, Island Health would like to remind all nurses who access PharmaNet that April 30th is the last day to enroll in PRIME.dont-wait.png

The Ministry of Health initiative is the new system by which all health care providers must enroll in PRIME to be authorized to access PharmaNet. The PRIME initiative ensures protection of patient and practitioner information by confirming that all PharmaNet users are approved by the Ministry of Health. Therefore, all nurses and other health care professionals are required to enroll for PRIME to be able to continue to access PharmaNet.

If you currently have PharmaNet within the scope of your role at Island Health, then you must enroll in PRIME to ensure continued access. If you are unsure if this applies to you, review the FAQ and follow-up with your leader.

The Ministry of Health has been working in partnership with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives to send out communications by email. BCCNM has emailed every registrant an invitation and reminders to enroll in PRIME that includes your PharmaNet ID, license number, and instructions.

WHAT YOU NEED TO DO:

  1. Complete your PRIME enrollment.
  2. If you have already enrolled, ensure your PharmaNet ID is correctly entered in your PRIME profile. Read the FAQ for further instructions.
  3. If you are asked for an email address to share your PRIME approval notification, please enter PharmaNetEnrollment@islandhealth.ca.
  4. Read through the BCCNM PRIME emails to ensure you have completed all the necessary steps.
  5. Please Note: Failure to complete PRIME enrollment by April 30th, 2023 will result in the Ministry of Health removing access to PharmaNet. Reinstatement will only occur once enrollment has been confirmed.
  6. Review the FAQ.

We appreciate your patience while Island Health teams work on creating the internal process to enable this change. Once the work is completed, you will receive communication on the next steps.
