Prepare for difficult conversations - seats still available for the Communicating Unexpected Outcomes (CUO) for Clinicians course.

When an unexpected clinical outcome occurs (including harm caused by error), we know the experience can be devastating for the patient, their family and the healthcare professionalsDifficult conversations.png involved.  Island Health is committed to supporting the disclosure of unexpected clinical outcomes and ensuring that communication occurs in a timely, transparent, and supportive manner.  

By completing the Communicating Unexpected Outcomes (CUO) for Clinicians course, you can better equip yourself with enhanced communication skills, which will support you and your teams through these often-difficult disclosure circumstances.

We are encouraging all staff, medical staff and leadership within Island Health to register today for the accredited, virtual training course, CUO for Clinicians.  The CUO for Clinicians course is offered free of charge and delivered virtually in two, 2-hour sessions (spaced one week apart). There are several seats available this summer and through to the end of 2023Spots are filling up fast- register for your spot today!
