It is with great pleasure that I announce Dr. Valerie Ehasoo and Dr. Savannah Forrester will be joining Seniors Health and Community Virtual Care as Medical Leads.

Dr. Valerie Ehasoo begins her new role as Medical Lead with a focus on Community and Primary Care, on September 15, 2023.  She is a family physician in Victoria with a special interest in seniors’ health and memory care, with extensive clinical experience in adult guardianship matters.  She currently works with Geriatric Speciality Services providing home visits and outreach service to frail and vulnerable older adults in the community.  Dr. Ehasoo is also the physician lead for the new Primary Care Memory Clinic in Victoria which provides interdisciplinary cognitive assessments and care for seniors with memory concerns.  Dr. Ehasoo brings enthusiastic energy and a strong interest in quality improvement, system transformation, increasing work satisfaction and reducing burnout in health care providers, all with the goal of improving the health, wellbeing, and quality of life for older adults and their caregivers.

Dr. Savannah Forrester begins her new role as Medical Lead with a focus on Acute Care, on September 1, 2023.  She completed FRCPC specialist training in Emergency Medicine at Queen’s University, as well as a Geriatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship at the University of Toronto.  Throughout her career, Dr. Forrester has been recognized for making outstanding contributions to the care of older adults and teaching geriatric care principles to medical trainees.  She has published articles with direct relevance to improving seniors care in peer reviewed journals including the Canadian Journal of Emergency Medicine, Academic Emergency Medicine, and more.  Dr. Forrester brings a highly valuable skill set of emergency medicine expertise combined with advanced knowledge of frailty, delirium, and other geriatric syndromes.

Please join me in welcoming these two exceptional and dedicated physicians into their new medical leadership roles.
