Population and Public Health is excited to introduce Dr. Stéphane Trépanier as the newest Medical Health Officer (MHO) at Island Health. 
Dr. Trépanier joins us as the MHO for the Cowichan Valley, based in the Duncan Norcross office. He will also provide interim coverage for the Alberni-Clayoquot region and regional support for the Environmental Public Health and Healthy Environments programs.
A specialist in public health and preventive medicine, Dr. Trépanier brings significant expertise in environmental public health and climate change. He also has a deep experience in rural public health practice and is eager to collaborate with local and Indigenous communities.
Dr. Trépanier most recently served as MHO in the Interior Health region. He is working remotely in Quebec until early November when he'll be moving to the Island with his family, including his two young children.
