The topic for April /May 2024 is Recall under the Mental Health Act (MHA) and its administration.
Extended leave is available to patients receiving treatment under the MHA as a means to ensure their earliest opportunity for release from hospital and return to community living. When conditions of extended leave are not being met, a recall to a designated facility may be initiated.
Not all occasions under which a patient has returned to a designated facility are considered recall. This issue discusses the distinctions and the documentation.
The new April /May issue, as well as past issues, of MHA Infobits are available for direct download on the MHA Intranet site. Tune into The Weekly for your new issue of MHA Infobits every other month.
