The following has been sent on behalf Dr. Ben Williams, Vice President Medicine, Quality, Research and Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Manjeet Mann has served in the role of Executive Medical Director [EMD] for a decade, and after discussion with Island Health, has decided to leave his role and focus on his clinical practice at this point in his career. Dr. Mann will be leaving his role as EMD effective October 2, 2024. I would like to thank Dr. Mann for his outstanding leadership.

Dr. Mann has been a highly valued leader in Island Health, serving as an Executive Medical Director since 2015. His leadership has been instrumental in expanding critical care services, echocardiography and stroke care access throughout Island Health. In the South Island, Dr. Mann has built strong relationships across medical staff groups and has been the key Executive Medical Director supporting Island Health’s VESTED relationship with the South Island Hospitalists including providing EMD support for development of the Hospital-At-Home and Hospitalist MAID Programs.

Dr. Mann’s leadership and contributions to Island Health have improved both patient care and the experience of providing care for staff and medical staff.

Dr. Mann will continue to work as a cardiologist within Island Health and I look forward to continuing to work clinically with a trusted colleague. We are currently developing a transition plan for Executive Medical Director leadership and will provide updates in future communication. Please join me in wishing Manjeet all the best.
