Congratulations go out to Dr. John Galbraith on his retirement from Island Health in July where he has been a valuable member of the medical staff community since 2005. He served in several leadership roles where he could follow his interest in improving Molecular Diagnostics across the region. Dr. Galbraith is a representative with Doctors of BC on the provincial Physician Quality Improvement (PQI) working group is Past-Chair of Island Health's PQI Steering Committee.
John joined the South Island (SI) Medical Staff Association (MSA) Executive in 2019, and immediately dove into leadership of the South Island Facility Engagement Initiative Working Group, of which the ever-popular Engagement Projects are a significant part. John was particularly keen to involve a patient partner in the work, as his PQI experience taught him that this invaluable perspective is a key ingredient to long-term success.
