Following four successful virtual symposiums, the Choosing Wisely at Island Health Oversight Committee is partnering this year with the Environmental Sustainability Program in lieu of hosting our annual virtual event. Together we are excited to promote Island Health’s first-ever Climate Change & Planetary Health Conference!
What: Climate Change & Planetary Health Conference
When: Thursday, September 26, 2024
Where: In-person at the Vancouver Island Convention Center in Nanaimo
The event is a single-day, in-person conference for Island Health staff and medical staff.
Space is limited and the conference is almost sold out! Visit the event page for more details and to secure your spot now.
Note for physicians: We have secured compensation for 50 physicians to attend the conference through the Health System Redesign (HSR) initiative provided by the Joint Collaborative Committees of Doctors of BC. To be eligible for funding, physicians must be fully-licensed FPs or SPs based on Vancouver Island. The initiative compensates physician time at a standard non-clinical rate for the duration of the event. If you are a physician who would like to register for HSR funding to attend this event, the Eventbrite registration process will capture the information needed from you to process your HSR sessional payment. You will also be required to fill out a short survey after the conference. Register today to secure your spot.
Attendees can expect to learn about Island Health’s climate change and environmental sustainability efforts, connect with sustainability advocates and change makers from across the Island, and be empowered to make positive change, no matter their role. More details can be found on the Eventbrite registration page.
