Following our June 4th Accreditation 2026 Summary and Preliminary Findings communication (available HERE), we are pleased to share that the final results from the Accreditation Canada Sequence 1 survey, conducted May 24 to 29, 2026, are now available on the Survey Results page of the Island Health Accreditation intranet site.
In this report, Accreditation Canada recognized Island Health's commitment to delivering safe, high-quality, person-centered care. This achievement reflects the dedication and contributions of staff, medical staff, volunteers, leaders, patients and family partners, and community partners across our organization.
We are proud to share that Island Health remains “Accredited" following this first sequence! Once we have completed Sequence 2 in 2028, we will receive a final accreditation award for this current accreditation cycle.
The final survey results, including surveyor observations, are available online at Survey Results.
The Island Health Accreditation Team will be attending upcoming clinical governance meetings in September to provide an overview of the report and outline any required next steps.
Every visit with an Accreditation Canada surveyor included the participation of many, such as our patient and family partners, clinical and support teams, volunteers, physicians, leaders, and community partners.
We extend our sincere appreciation to everyone who contributed to the survey process. Every surveyor visit highlighted the exceptional work being done across Island Health and demonstrated our shared commitment to quality improvement and excellence in care.
