May 6 to 12 marks National Nursing Week in Canada. The 2024 campaign theme – Changing Lives. Shaping Tomorrow – embraces “the contributions of the tremendous impact that nurses have on individuals, communities, and the future of health care" (Canadian Nurses Association).
Island Health recognizes the extraordinary skill, fortitude, and altruism of our nursing workforce. To every nurse, in every role, in each community across Vancouver Island; thank you for all that you do.
Various in-person celebrations are being held across the organization this week as the Chief Nursing Officer and other Island Health leaders will be out and about acknowledging the contributions of our nurses. Please check in with your manager or team leader to inquire as to what might be occurring at your site.
