The island Health Division of Nephrology is seeking a full-time general Nephrologist to work in Victoria, British Columbia.
The new recruit is sought to replace a retiring nephrologist. They will take over a mature practice to maintain our current complement of 8 nephrologists.
The successful candidate will be offered full integration into the group. Allocation of inpatient service, dialysis and on call duties will be shared equally with current full-time nephrologists in Victoria.
Remuneration is fee for service as outlined by the medical services plan of British Columbia as well as level 2 MOCAP paid in accordance with on-call services provided.
The new nephrologist will practice in all areas of general nephrology including in-patient coverage, kidney care and renal transplant clinics, and supervision of out-patients who are doing independent dialysis (PD, home hemodialysis), incentre nocturnal dialysis and community hemodialysis.
In addition, they will be expected to maintain an outpatient community practice with similar capacity to other full-time nephrologists in Victoria.
The position requires fellowship training in nephology and medical licensure to practice nephrology in the province of British Columbia. English fluency and excellent communication and interpersonal skills are also required.
Additional sub-specialty training in an aspect of clinical nephrology such as transplantation, GN, palliative care or other areas of focused clinical expertise will be considered an asset. In addition, credentials, experience and willingness to take on medical administration roles will be considered a distinguishing attribute as future participation in program development activities is expected.
