Refresh of Emergency Health Provider Registry

Posted on: July 20, 2022

Since its launch, BC's Emergency Health Provider Registry (EHPR) has adapted to respond to health system emergencies (including floods, wildfires, and other climate-change relatedUpdated stamp.jpg disasters) and the COVID-19 pandemic.

More than 10,000 people are currently registered with the EHPR and the Ministry of Health is undertaking a refresh of the system to update registrant information and improve our capacity to contact and deploy registrants in a timely way.

If you are interested in being an active registrant with the EHPR and want to be considered for current and future emergency deployments, please confirm your commitment by visiting  Health Provider Registry for BC's Emergency Response (gov.bc.ca).

If you do not complete the new form (and are currently registered on the previous EHPR), you will be removed from the EHPR and will no longer be considered when opportunities arise.

At this time, health authorities are interested in contacting registrants to support the following service areas:

  • Hospital settings including critical care, intensive care, emergency departments and support staff
  • Long-term care and/or Assisted living
  • Home support
  • COVID-19 specific support (including immunization and testing).

It may not be possible for everyone who expresses interest to be released. We encourage you to discuss potential deployment with your supervisor prior to registering on the EHPR; however, it is not mandatory prior to registration. However, all deployments will need final sign off from your current supervisor prior to deployment.

Registration in the EHPR does not guarantee deployment rather your being contacted for deployment is dependent on the specific needs of each health authority. For supervisors, we encourage you to support deployment if feasible. EHPR is maintained year-round, so it is available to use when and as needed.

If you choose to register, thank you for your continued interest in the EHPR.. We could not do this work without the commitment and support of dedicated professionals like yourself.

If you have any questions, please email EHPRQuestions@gov.bc.ca.
